The E-6 visa is issued to foreign nationals who will engage in profit-making arts, entertainment, or performance activities in Korea. Sub-categories: E-6-1 (music, fine arts, literature, broadcasting/entertainment activities), E-6-2 (performance at hotel facilities and entertainment venues — subject to enhanced review), and E-6-3 (professional athletes, team coaches, managers).
Foreign performers, athletes, entertainers, and related professionals working professionally in Korea. Common applicants include K-pop company trainees and artists, foreign athletes in Korean sports leagues (baseball, basketball, soccer), foreign models, DJs performing at commercial venues, and TV/film actors.
Signed performance or employment contract with a Korean entertainment company, sports team, or commercial venue
Demonstrated professional experience or recognized talent in the relevant art or sport
For E-6-2 (performance at hotel and entertainment venue facilities): additional review by immigration due to anti-trafficking regulations
No criminal record

Signed contract with a Korean entertainment company, agency, or sports organization
Portfolio, performance history, or professional credentials (recordings, press coverage, competition results, etc.)
Criminal background check from home country (apostilled, issued within 3 months)

Sign a contract with a Korean entity
Secure a professional contract with a Korean entertainment company, sports club, or venue. Your Korean sponsor will play a key role in the visa process.
Prepare your portfolio and documents
Compile evidence of your professional career — recordings, performance history, awards, team contracts for athletes. Have your criminal background check apostilled.
Apply at the Korean consulate
Submit the visa application at the Korean embassy or consulate in your country. Processing is typically 2–4 weeks.
Arrive and register
Register at the immigration office within 90 days of arrival to receive your ARC.
