KIIP 指南

Create an account at the Social Integration Information System (사회통합정보망) at socinet.go.kr. Enter your ARC number and personal details. Register for the placement test (사전평가).

The placement test is available online or at designated centres. It assesses your Korean reading, listening, and comprehension. Results are usually available within a few days. You will be assigned an entry level (0–5).

On socinet.go.kr, search for available classes at your entry level at locations near your home or workplace. Classes fill up quickly — popular ones at convenient times and locations can be fully booked months in advance. Register as early as possible.

Each KIIP class requires at least 80% attendance to receive credit for that level. Track your attendance carefully — missing too many classes requires you to restart the level. Classes are typically held on weekday evenings or weekend mornings to accommodate working students.

At the end of each level, take the level completion test. Passing score is typically 60/100. If you pass, you advance to the next level. Levels 1–4 focus on language; Level 5 covers Korean society, history, economics, and culture.

After completing Level 5 and passing the final test, you receive a KIIP completion certificate (이수증). This certificate is the key document for bonus points in your F-2-7 application or the residency-period reduction in your application. Keep it safe.
